Stelmine is a junior mining exploration company pioneering a new gold district (Caniapiscau) east of James Bay in an under-explored part of the eastern Opinaca metasedimentary basin where the Company has 1782 claims.  If you have proven experience in mineral discovery, a passion for geology and a desire to make world-class discoveries, this position is for you!
Main TASKS ;
• Manage all Stemine’s exploration activities at our Quebec City office;
• Plan and verify all work programs so they are completed on time and within the approved budgets;
• Responsible for the follow-up and validity of claims including renewal applications and completion of statutory work reports;
• Establish and ensure that best practices are employed and technical expertise is used effectively to meet project milestones and objectives;
• Verify the Company is complying with health, safety and environmental standards;
• In charge of the generation of new exploration projects;
• Establish geological models, goals as well as exploration targets and presents results to the company and the public;
• Provide mentoring and guidance to all members of the exploration crew;
• Maintain good relations with contractors and JV partners;
• Regularly visit projects of the Company and provide oversight;
• Participate in geoscience conference and prepare all necessary promotional materials;
• Attend meetings and presentations with the President;
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• University degree in geology – Member in good standing of the OGQ or OIQ;
• Previous experience as a Vice President of Exploration in a mining company;
• At least 15 years of experience in mineral exploration, including extensive knowledge of gold projects in Proterozoic and Archean greenstone belts. This includes elaboration of detailed geological models, field mapping, core logging, geological and structural interpretation, etc;
• Experience in project generation and development of new exploration targets;
• Good understanding of project economics and evaluation;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to promote the development talent;
• Previous work experience with the following software platforms: ArcGIS, QGIS, Geotic, Leapfrog and Micromine;
• A perfect command of written and spoken French and an advanced level of written and spoken English would be major assets;
